My name is Syed R. Rahman (Rana). I have been living in Austin for the past 16 years. I moved here from St. Louis, Missouri, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. And I'm not saying that because of the awful burritos over there! I earned my bachelors degree in "?" Engineering from UT at Austin. Currently, I am working at Freescale Semiconductor as a Senior Design Engineer.

I have been married for eleven years to my lovely wife, Rakhee, and have two sweetheart daughters, Pareesa and Eeshana, who make me the happiest dad alive.

One of the main reasons I want to be in the ad-hoc committee is because I would like to create a strong committee from the community who will take the daunting task of writing the by-laws for the new association. I believe that a solid foundation is the key to a strong association.

I enjoy playing sports although some people like to think that what I do on the field is more of a combination of tai chi, karate, kick boxing, kung fu, and sumo wrestling. I miss those days when Austin used to hold soccer, basketball, cricket, and 29/carram tournaments all in the same year. If I am elected I will do my best to revive that old tradition of Austin and keep the spirit alive throughout the year. Although I cannot be held responsible for the "bamboo" you might get at home for the frequent sports "practices."

As I said at the very beginning, moving to Austin was one of the best decisions I ever made so I want to make this place even better for my family, your family, and the greater family.
