event on Saturday February 21, 2009. Please join us as we pay respect to our
language martyrs and convey the importance of our mother language to the future
generations. The United Nations celebrate February 21, 2009 as International

11.00 am: Kids Program – Dance, songs and sora –
Organized by
11.40 am: 'Fhul Aurpon' and
performance of 'Amar Bhaiyer
Rokte Rangano'. **All
children are invited to participate in this. Please dress them in black and
white for the occasion.**
11.50 am:
12.00 Noon – 1.00 pm: Break for lunch
1.00 pm: Council member Randy Shade will present the ‘Proclamation of
International Mother Language Day’.
1.10 – 2.10 pm: Adult performances – Poetry recitation, ‘Desher
Katha, Bhashar Katha’.
Donation of Books/Audio visuals: BAGA and several volunteers
have initiated a project to add and increase collection of popular books and
DVDs at the Austin Public Library System. If you'd like to donate some of your
collection of books and DVDs to the library system, please bring them to the
Mohan Ekushe event this Saturday 2/21/2009.
BAGA Food Stall will be serving daal
puri, chatpati, chicken/
vegetable patties, jhal muri.
aam bharta,
sweet, naan, chicken tikka,
meat rejala, Mughlai Parota, vegetable( for lunch) and tea.
Sharee Stall: There
will be a Sharee Stall ‘Shabina’s
Collection’ at the event which will open after
the programs of the day has ended. To respect the significance of the day, we
request that the audience only gathers at the Sharee
Stall after the program of the day is complete. ‘Shabina’s
Collection’ will not open until the program has ended.
Please join us to make this event successful and pay due respect to our fallen
heroes who have given us our language.
