Establishing BAGA Identity
Dear Community Members:
Bangladesh Association of Greater Austin (BAGA) is about 10 weeks old now! Within this short period of time, BAGA BOD has established its strong committment towards community services by organizing blood drives with The Blood Center of Central Texas, voluntary work at the Capital Area Food Bank, coordinating with Bangldesh Embassy for a mobile consular service at Austin. We have distributed information on financial help for needy community members. We are presently exploring voluntary opportunity with Habitat for Humanity and American Red Cross. There are many services for our members' benefit that we are working on, announcements of which will follow soon.
BAGA has succesfully organized an event to observe Shadhinota Dibosh' 2007 and will observe Pohela Boishakh on April 14, 2007 at Richard Moya Park in a grand fashion:

But one of the initiative that BAGA BOD undertook was much less visible. Over this time, BAGA BOD contacted and distributed Press Release (attached, and link: http://www.bagatx.org/baga_news/BAGA_PRESS_RELEASE.pdf) announcing the formation of BAGA to:
a) City elected officials
b) local organizations representating different communities
c) Bangladesh Association of different Texas cities
d) Bangladesh Associations of almost all the US states
e) Bangladesh Embassy
f) Fobana
g) Some Universities etc.
Communication with other entities will continue since it is very important to spread the word of BAGA. It will give a solid foundation on which BAGA will thrive in the coming days. It will also dispel some misconception and misinformation about this community and its representation.
Dear Members, BAGA BOD would like to ask you to become BAGA Ambassadors and help us to establish BAGA's identity to all the relevant places. Please forward the attached press release to groups/organizations that you are a member of. Please suggest entities where you think BAGA BOD should send this press release to by sending a mail to baga_bods@yahoo.com.
BAGA is an organization we created together, it will be an organization we establish together.
