BAGA and the Community Celebrates Shadhinota Dibosh 2007

Bangladesh Association of Greater Austin and the greater Austin Bangladeshi 
community celebrated Shadhinota Dibosh 2007 with a variety program at the 
Austin School for the Blind auditorium on March 24th, 2007. BAGA BODs issues 
the following message to the community after the event:


Dear Community Members, 

Bangladesh-er Shadinata Dibash shubechha to you all on this March 26 momentous 
and historic day. Thanks to all of you for coming in with your children, family 
and friends on Mar 24 Saturday to make Shadinata Dibash event organized by BAGA 
a success. 

We are very thankful to all the volunteeers, judges, artists, MCs, the debators 
and live-quiz-show contestants for their ethusiastic participation and help. 

The children produced colorful art work for the Shadinata Dibash art competition 
and we thank them and also their parents for encouraging them to participate. 

Winners of the children's art competition were: 

Age 7 and below: Best: Zumanah(5); 2 Outstanding: Rusama(7); Tajrin(7) 

Age 8 and above: Best: Nahiyan(11); 2 Outstanding: Tanisha(12); Maimuna Maisha(8) 

Art Judges were: Atia, Izzat, Nasreen, Reema, Runa, Saba, Sarah, Samira, Shelly, Tulu. 

Debate winners were: Best debator Farah Amin Luna; runners-up: Tuhin Mahmud 

Quiz winners: #1 Emil; #2 Esrar(Shakil) 

Our deep appreciation to all the Food volunteers whose masterful work resulted in all 
food items being completely sold on the event day. 

Blood donors among us did an outstanding job and gave blood in two locations on Mar 24 
organized by the BAGA community services.
